Provence is rich of many traditional, artisanal and quality products from its terroir, and which contribute to the reputation of the region. Discover its wines, honeys, olive oils, tapenades, cheeses, calissons and other delicious products.
PROVENÇAL MARKET
You will find nice markets in many Provencal cities according to the days and the time of the year. Click here to access information by city or day. We particularly recommend the markets of Aix-en-Provence at 35 minutes which are really very pleasant and colorful: flower market, farmers’ market of Aix and the region, market of old books, there are some for all tastes, and in many squares and streets of the city.
WINES
Lovers of good wine will find their happiness in the near surroundings of the Suite Rêve d’Ailleurs. Less than 5 minutes by car is the Vallon des Glauges estate, which offers AOC Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and can be the starting point of the Provence wine route. And just 20 minutes away we invite you to discover the area of Terres Blanches where you can taste excellent AOC Baux de Provence.
OLIVE OIL
A quarter of an hour from Rêve d’Ailleurs is the village of Mouriès and its famous oil mill where are produced olive oil PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) of the Valley of Baux de Provence, olives broken Baux (regional specialty found from mid-September), as well as other regional products based on olive oil (tapenade, soaps etc). The Moulin de Mouriès also offers free guided tours that end with a tasting of different oils and products.
CHEESE
A few minutes in the path of the Mas d’Espagne in Eyguières you can go to the farm of Alpilles Madame Chiari who produces delicious pure goat cheeses and also offers to attend the goat milking every day from 18h . The farm is open from March 1st to December 15th.
